The two videos that i will be comparing are Wings by Little Mix and 30 days by The Saturdays. The two girl bands are in the pop genre.
The similarities between these two videos are that for when each individual member of the girl band sings their solo section the camera mainly focuses on that individual. Depending on the speed of the music this would alter the affect of the combination of camera shots and angles with the speed of each transition the little mix video was full of fast pace music including rapping. This would then mean to keep the pace and excitement of the video the camera shots are a variety of extreme close ups, close ups and mid shots with fast jump cut transitions. In contrast The Saturdays music video to “30 days” is slow in comparison to “wings” this means that on their individual focus their transitions are not as fast as they do not need to keep an upbeat rhythm. A big difference between the two videos is that for The Saturdays their video had a story line telling the audience about finding love in a singular cafe, whereas for Little Mix they have made the video into a more choreographed dance video. Although the two videos have a large juxtaposition in the way they have been presented they both appeal to the same audience of young teens as they have portrayed an image that can be seen as idols for them.
